Hey me, it's you!

Dear Me, Well, that first half of life was a thing, huh? There was joy, there was fun, there were seasons in the sun...and a whole lot of bullshit. Life isn't fair, and I'm sure it's unfair for everyone. But, man, the hand it's dealt me feels particularly unfair. Since I was a little girl, I imagined having a little one of my own. When I got older, I made decisions centered around that "one day." I pursued a career in teaching because I expected to go on family roadtrips, beach days, and all of the things summer vacation was meant for. I'd even be able to see my kid at work.  I bought a house with plenty of bedrooms. Two was the goal. One boy, one girl. But, really, we would have been thrilled with one of any gender.  I married a man who would have been an amazing father.  Now, in the second half of life, it is becoming desperately clear that motherhood is a station that my train didn't get to stop in.  (If anyone is reading this, please READ THIS BEFO...
